Rock Climbing Programs

Our rock climbing programs are designed to help you learn all aspects of the sport, whether you're an absolute beginner or want to learn more advanced techniques or explore longer, more difficult climbs. Climbing is more about balance and technique than pure strength; as long as you're in reasonably good condition, you can learn to enjoy rock climbing. Our #1 goal is that you have fun and learn to climb as safely as possible.

Introduction to Rock Climbing
If you've never climbed before or have only climbed in a gym, let us get you started on the right foot. You'll learn about all aspects of traditional climbing including movement on rock, belaying, rappelling, equipment, and knots. We'll focus on short, top-roped climbs on the first day and climb a multi-pitch route on the second day.

Intermediate Multi-Pitch Climbing
If you have some experience top-roping, and want to take the next step, or have some experience on multi-pitch routes and want to brush up your skills, we can tailor this course to suit your needs. We'll focus on refining your climbing technique, learning about anchors and belaying on multi-pitch routes, and moving efficiently on longer climbs.

Climbing Anchors
Whether you're a beginning leader or want to learn more options for setting up your own top-ropes, spending a day focussing on anchors will give you a lot more confidence. We'll look at all different types of protection, and different ways of combining them into strong, effective anchors.

Learn to Lead
Lead climbing is a lot more than just climbing above your gear.  We can help you make the transition faster and easier.  We'll cover protection placement, protecting the pitch, anchor building, and belaying from the top.  You'll apply these skills with a mock-lead or, if you're ready, a real lead.

Classic Alpine Routes
Rock climbing high on a mountain is an experience like no other. The focus of these climbs is on enjoying fun climbing and great scenery, and on moving efficiently with a minimum of equipment. Possibilities include Mt. Washginton, Cannon Mountain, and Mt. Katahdin.

Custom Climbing Programs
All of our courses are custom-tailored to meet your needs. We can also design a course or pick a climb to suit your interests and ability. Give us a call to discuss options.

Discover Rock Climbing
If you aren’t ready to commit to multi pitch climbs, but would like to try rock climbing, this is the course for you. We’ll teach you about the equipment and rope systems used for toproping and rappelling, and spend the rest of the day climbing top-roped climbs. 1 day.

Group Toprope Days
These are great for large groups such as clubs who want to learn the basics and try the exciting sport of rock climbing. Let us know the size of your group and we can custom-design a program for you. Contact us for special group rates.
