Cathedral Ledge

Cathedral Ledge is home to many classic face and crack climbs of all grades from beginner to expert.  Some of our favorites include:
Thin Air, 5.6 and Upper Refuse, 5.5 provide many beginning climbers with their first experience with multi-pitch climbing.  Both offer interesting moves and great exposure.
Some great intermediate climbs are Funhouse, 5.7  and Bombardment, 5.8. Funhouse has a great variety of interesting climbing and Bombardment is one of the best 5.8 cracks in the area.  Both climbs are often combined with Black Lung, 5.8 and/or Upper Refuse to provide a great full-length climb of the cliff  The Toe Crack, 5.7 has some of the best 5.7 crack climbing around.
For some excellent face climbing, Rapid Transit, 5.9 or 5.10b and Still in Saigon, 5.8 are both fun.

Recompense, 5.9 is a great full-length more difficult climb, and climbs a striking line, with excellent exposure.
The Practice Slabs have a variety of great climbs between 5.5-5.10.  Some of the best crack climbs in the area are located here, and they couldn't be more easily accessible.  They are all easily top-roped by leading Child's Play, 5.5.

Whitehorse South Buttress

Whitehorse Ledge is best known for it's slab climbing.  The slabs are a great place to work on balance and footwork.  If you're climbing here on your own, be prepared for long runouts, as many climbs lack features for natural protection, and bolts are generally widely spaced.  Some of our favorites include:
Standard Route, 5.5 and Beginner's Route, 5.5 are two of the best beginner's climbs.  Standard Route climbs the cliff's most obvious feature, a large, left-leaning arch.  Both offer fun climbing and plenty of chances to learn to trust your feet, as well as a great view of the Mt. Washington Valley.
Some fun intermediate routes are Sliding Board, 5.7, Sea of Holes, 5.7, and  Wavelength 5.8.  All offer lots of fun, thought-provoking slab climbing.  Sliding board also has a fun crack section.
The South Buttress of Whitehorse, in contrast to the Slabs, is steep and has many exciting face and crack climbs.  Some of the best include:
Infurno, 5.8 is a great combination of face and crack climbing.
Children's Crusade, 5.9 offers three pitches of exciting face climbing.
Hotter than Hell, 5.9, and A Cold Day in Hell, 5.10a, are fun steep face climbs that will test your balance.
